Outcome of Avangard HC Board of Directors meeting

On April 15, Avangard HC Board of Directors meeting was held in Moscow. It was dedicated to summing up the performance of the club's teams in the 2021-2022 season.

The result of the KHL team by the end of the season was deemed unsatisfactory. The work of the selection unit headed by General Manager Alexei Volkov, who presented a report to the Board members during the meeting, was also rated as unsatisfactory. Volkov's group was mandated to prepare a list of candidates for the position of KHL team head coach, as well as a list of hockey players for potential transfers. It was also decided to resume the work of the transfer committee, which proved to be effective during the championship winning season.

The performance of Omskie Krylya VHL team, which did not make the playoffs, was also deemed unsatisfactory. Board members instructed Alexei Volkov to select candidates for the assistant general manager position, who will be responsible for setting goals for the VHL team and their implementation during the next season, as well as for the VHL team roster in accordance with the strategy of the club.

The results of Omskie Yastreby Junior team which made it to the Kharlamov Cup semi-finals, were rated as positive. The Board of Directors recognized the work of the coaching staff and the overall sports results of the team as successful. It was emphasized that this season the Junior Hockey League team was one of the youngest in the league and in the history of Avangard HC.

The next meeting of Avangard HC Board of Directors will be held in mid-May in Omsk. That is when the results of the work of the club’s Hockey Academy will be summed up, and a report on the current status of the construction of the Omsk Arena will be presented.
