Defenseman Sergei Boikov joins Avangard

Avangard has made a trade with Moscow Dynamo and acquired sport rights of 27-year-old defenseman Sergei Boikov. The player is signed to a two-year contract. Dynamo received monetary compensation.

Boikov is a Khabarovsk alumnus, he played in the QMJHL, ECHL, AHL, was drafted by Colorado Avalanche. Won silver medal at 2016 World Junior Championship. Spent 4 KHL seasons with Dynamo, played 138 games, scored 19 (3+16) points and was plus-9.

- Boikov has experience of playing in North America, was trained and coached there, has the qualities that are important for our team. He is disciplined, plays hard, knows how to block shots and stand up for his teammates. We hope that Sergei will peak with Avangard and strengthen our defense.

Boikov will be wearing number 96 in Avangard.
